Ms. Rakshan
Teaching is my life's passion and I have been working with children in the early childhood age range since 2009. I graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in Family & Child Studies with K-5 elementary certification. After a brief couple years working in a traditional Kindergarten classroom, I realized there was so much I wanted to do differently. Fortunately, I also realized there was already a philosophy and method in existence that had the answers to all I felt was lacking in the more traditional classroom settings.
I didn’t need much personal convincing to dive right into the two year Teacher Education program at West Side Montessori. By 2014, upon completing my training and classroom internship, I was a certified early childhood instructor in a Montessori classroom and since 2018 I have been running my humble early childhood program from my home.
My hope is to provide children with an authentic Montessori experience within the safety and warmth of an Islamic home environment. When young children are respected as individuals and allowed to flourish in accordance with their own personal timeline and development, the results are nothing short of magical. The Montessori philosophy honors each child for his/her uniqueness and over the typical three year cycle I have the honor of witnessing the growth that delicately reveals itself with this appropriate time and nurturing.
